Childhood memories

17 in / 42 cm

Who hasn’t used a staircase as a playground? Two little girls are sitting on a staircase, colouring.

Anecdote
We were a fairly large family (eight children), so owning a colouring book was a very rare occurrence. Sitting with our feet through the stairs outside the house, my two sisters and I usually made drawings on small, flat stones. That is a fond memory we have of the summers of our youth. This sculpture is dedicated to my sister Céline, who worked with me for twenty years. The inscription can be seen below the step.

Treatment
Sculpture (17in/42cm) on a granite base, with patinas of many colours.
