Anecdote
June 1995, a difficult period. Very early one morning, I was crying as I rushed to a meeting. All of a sudden, I saw her. There she stood, a very thin, almost impoverished child in a swimsuit, forgotten on a lawn for the rest of that summer day. Her hair was cut in the manner of children left to their own devices. Huge pink glasses framed her small face. She stood still, staring in fascination at the new shade of the school bus ahead of me. I burst out laughing. It was so beautiful, so simple, a wink from an angel!
Treatment
Bronze (14in/36cm) on a granite base. The skin has been textured with silver nitrate; the hair is bluish. The skipping rope is 10-carat gold.
