Thank You is the same figure found in the Goodbye and Welcome sculptures, but here he is bowing and begging for change. As he collects a few coins in his hand, he bows in gratitude.
Anecdote
I created this sculpture somewhat as an editorial, to rid myself of the frustration over the state of servitude in which some people try to keep artists. Based on the cliché of the poor selfless artist, they try to pay creators the lowest amount possible by keeping them out of any business discussions. I have had to face such exasperating behaviour on several occasions!
Treatment
Very colourful bronze (25in/63cm). The skin has been treated with ferric nitrate. The costume and hat have tricoloured patinas, and the strings are golden. The hair is bluish and the bells are mirror polished.
