THE CLOWN LAUGHS NO LONGER

#37  (11 in / 28 cm)

We all, at some point in our lives, fundamentally question the direction in which our lives are heading During these times of self-doubt we may feel alone with our problem, even if we are be surrounded by loved ones. At times the solution may be close at hand; so close, in fact, that we can’t see it for lack of perspective.

I chose a clown because deep down, no matter what role we give ourselves, humans remain jesters, or at least beings that cannot be taken completely seriously.

The figure has well-defined muscles: one imagines him having a solid temperament that is not easily overcome. Thus, he seems to be in the midst of a particularly difficult period. Everything is a burden: the ruff around his neck, his hand that dangles heavily between his legs and the tired ball on which he is sitting. He is holding his red clown’s nose, emblem of his profession, to see it from a bit of a distance and a new perspective.
