She is holding a book in her hand. Frozen in her shyness, she seems to want to say “Yes”, but since she cannot, she only smiles. Her hair reminds us of the nearness of childhood.
Anecdote
For several years, I was in a relationship with a musician, father of beautiful twins that I considered my daughters. This sculpture was created at the beginning of their adolescence.
Treatment
Bronze on granite (14.5in/37cm). The skin is textured with ferric nitrate. The socks are white, the book is burgundy, and the boots and hair are black.
