First there was the stone that looked like a cradle, then the young girl who came to sleep on it, in a position of complete abandon.
Anecdote
I first found this stone, which looked like a cradle. I was thinking of making a very young child, but the tension points and what I felt in the stone resulted in something else.
Treatment
Bronze (7.5in/19cm). The figure is black. The rock has a greyish-green patina and is mounted on a bronze pedestal.
The original sculpture is on a real stone.
