Two hands are entwined, one an adult’s, the other a child’s. The adult fingers are lightly folded in a protective gesture, but the middle finger is raised, leaving room for the child’s growth and development.
The position of the hands (two right hands) is a reference to Rodin’s sculpture, The Cathedral.
Treatment
Bronze (11.5in/29cm) with a grayish-green patina on a granite base.
