Post Card / Let it Go

Have you ever observed a germinating bean?

First it curls up, concentrating on itself. Then a shoot emerges and begins to grow longer, and suddenly a fragile little leaf appears and unfurls.

This sculpture was designed along the same concept: the angel is curling into herself, hiding her heart. She is extending an arm, hand softly open, facing up, with the simplicity and trust of a newborn. That, for me, is letting go.
