The ‘Wednesday Reflections’…: Sharing.
Tribute to the FAO.
The world of sharing must replace the sharing of the world. Claude Lelouch
Four characters, all of different races—man, woman, child, and angel—stand back to back, each holding a food item to offer: an apple, a fish, or wheat.
In the middle of them, the angel, with a raised fist, in the manner of Marianne from the French Revolution (for there must be a revolution in the distribution of wealth), brandishes a sheaf of wheat, a symbol of sharing and offering.
The entire sculpture rests on the legs of the child, reminding us that the future depends on youth…
Created to pay tribute to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), this sculpture symbolizes the sharing of the Earth’s resources.
